Learn the difference between

Dry Skin vs. Dehydrated Skin

Hello all! Today I wanted to discuss the difference between dry skin vs. dehydrated skin and what you can do to combat each but first get yourself a tall glass of water and take a drink.

  • Dry skin is a type of skin and dehydration skin is a skin condition, they both tend to look and feel similar but can be very different on how you treat.
  • Dry skin is a result of your body not producing enough sebum (oil) that causes itchiness and tightness to the skin. Dry skin is mostly genetic, but some other factors that can cause dry skin are extreme temperatures, medications, hormones, and the natural aging process. All these factors can exacerbate dryness and strip the skins natural barriers. Now take a drink of water.
  • Dehydrated skin is a lack of water in the skin. This happiness when you have lower than normal levels of water in your body. When this happens, you will stress your skin’s structure and its resiliency. This causes your skin to feel rough and you will lose the of elasticity of the skin. Take another drink of water.

Some ways to manage dry skin is to minimizing exposure to environmental influences and to restore the skins surface lipids with a good ultra-nourishing moisturize that is high in vitamins and lipid enriched ingredients to balance the depleted skins barrier. Take another drink.

Some steps to manage dehydrated would be to wash your skin with warm not hot water, skip the daily exfoliation and try exfoliating every other day. Plus, you will want to use a moisturizer that is lightweight, oil-free and that has soothing extracts that actively combats surface dehydration and that also contain amino acids to help smooth the skins surface. Take another drink.

Oh, and did I tell you that one of the best ways to manage both dry skin and dehydrated skin is to drink plenty of water.
